Freedom Financial Group Gives Back

GIVING BACK

You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone
who will never be able to repay you.” – John Wooden

East Lake Initiative

The East Lake Initiative (ELI) seeks to provide holistic community development within the greater East Lake area through strategic partnerships with the business community, local governments, educational institutions and churches. The initiative is helping to bring back pride in the neighborhood through house-to-home transformations. By acquiring distressed properties and renovating them to be quality homes, ELI is able to offer tenants safe housing options. Residents also prepare to be successful homeowners through a mentoring relationship that includes financial counseling and other types of support.

Christian Service Mission

They believe communities can thrive through relationships, resource-sharing, healthy food access, safe homes, and spiritual guidance. This is done in partnership with churches as well as through the creation of intentional mentoring opportunities in a variety of disciplines. Through these avenues, they desire to see growth in personal success, increased learning opportunities, safe homes in a vibrant community, and to reach all people through the telling of the Gospel and by living out Christ’s commands.

Jimmie Hale Mission

For many years, Freedom Financial has sponsored every meal that Jimmie Hale has delivered on Thanksgiving Day. Tad and Toni have been passionate supporters of the Jimmie Hale Mission, which has served the Birmingham area since opening as a humble storefront chapel in 1944.

Every year, Tad, Toni and their three daughters invite their clients and their families to join them on Thanksgiving morning to deliver hot meals to seniors and shut-ins in the Birmingham area.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Freedom Financial proudly supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancers. The organization’s mission is to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.

In 2014, Toni was honored to win the “Woman of the Year” award from the Alabama/Gulf Coast division of LLS. During a 10-week campaign, Toni raised $62,641, easily surpassing her goal of $25,000. The funds went to support blood cancer research as well as to medical bills for children and families in Alabama — a feat that qualified Toni to be recognized in the LLS’ “National Woman of the Year” campaign.

During the campaign, Toni also spent time with local survivors of blood cancers, as well as the LLS’ Boy and Girl of the Year, Cooper and Kyli.

Let's Help

Tad and Toni were invited to Topeka, Kansas, to speak to over 350 employees at Advisors Excel during their employee team-building day. Freedom Financial chooses to work with Advisors Excel because the independent marketing organization shares our core values of putting their clients and community first.

After the training, Tad and Toni joined the employees to volunteer in the Topeka area. Tad and Toni’s group went to Let’s Help, which provides free meals to anyone who comes through their doors. The group organized their food pantry and mopped the kitchen and dining room floors.

Let’s Help also holds educational classes to help people get their high school GED and help homeless people to find places to live.
